Servants only for them...

Obedience... this word is not tolerated by our friend Akita...! It seems that for last centuries, in Japan, Akitas went hunting, without their owners, in groups of 2 or 3. When they could bring back the game which they had killed, they brought it back ; but if the game were too large, like a bear or a stag, they returned to seek their owners. They were thus very independent, a character which they have retained. They had their own apartments, their own servants, and one addressed them in a language especially created for them... They were regarded as demi-gods...! At the beginning of the 20th century, after a few animated decades, the breed was declared as "national Treasure" by Japan. With such a past, how can you expect this dog to come immediatly when you say to it "come here"...???  Do not dream... Well... it will come... but really only to please you!!! Because you have a big asset:  it loves you, and you can
use this attachment to transform the meeting of "obedience" into shared pleasure ...
For example, Sakura shows me where she wants to eat... On the other hand, when I ask her to do something, she obeys, provided that I do not make my request in the form of peremptory order. In that case, under the appearance of playing, she would seek to dominate me... But as she loves me (this is essential...), she quickly reconsiders her attitude, and I also change mine and so, we reach agreement... In fact, it is necessary to reach a compromise with such a dog, and marvellous moments are obtained... The advices I have given to future owners may now seem well-founded (go "some advice"...) !
Unfortunately, they are also hunting-dogs... And Sakura not least..!
Since smelting big game (she caught up a roe-deer) she now hardly thinks of any time else...! (fortunately, she was only 9 months when that happened, and she had one moment of hesitation, after  knocking it down, and the roe-deer go away, very motivated...) For Sakura, there is a roe-deer or a hare behind every tree trunk... It is a little annoying, but this is her only major defect ..!!! But... if somebody could give me a "magic potion" to calm her, just a little, I would give it to her..!!!!!!
